Tommy Paul ousts Marcos Giron to win Oracle Challenger in New Haven

American Tommy Paul, the sixth seed, won his second Challenger Tour (and third overall) title with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over American Marcos Giron in New Haven, Conn. Paul, who was ranked 114th last week in the world, will move into the Top 100 rankings for the first time with the win when the rankings come out Monday.

Paul and Giron practice together a lot and had played twice before Sunday, with Giron winning both times. “He’s really well-rounded, good forehand, good serve,” Giron said. “There’s no real weaknesses in his game.”
