— Bill Connors was a renowned fashion photographer who died of AIDS on September 29, 1988 in Coconut Grove, Miami. He was 59 years old. . Hailing from Newark, Connors worked in Europe and the United States for publications including @Voguemagazine, @Elle and @HarpersBazaarUS. . Connors shot #CherylTiegs for numerous magazine covers who when asked about him said - . "I was just a kid when Bill photographed me for a @Glamourmag cover in the late 1960's. . We developed a special personal relationship that lasted until his death. . He took me under his wing and cared and loved me as a person; it's important for a young model to be treated kindly and with respect. . Bill was a very good photographer, and his lighting was always gorgeous, but the real reason he got good pictures is that he made you feel so good. That's as important as working hard. . He was always funny and lively and even today if I'm in a boring situation, I'll think "How would Bill deal with this?" . He was so helpful to me in my life and my career, and was such an influence on me, that he's become part of me." .
