The BBC reports: Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez added the Wimbledon wheelchair singles title to his Australian and French Open wins as he came from behind to beat Japanese top seed Shingo Kunieda 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The 25-year-old, a runner-up in 2017 and 2018, could complete a calendar Grand Slam at the U.S. Open.

Earlier on Sunday, Dutch pair Aniek van Koot and Diede de Groot won the women's wheelchair doubles title.

They beat compatriot Marjolein Buis and Italy's Giulia Capocci 6-1, 6-1.

Van Koot, 28, beat partner De Groot in the wheelchair singles final on Saturday.

"Who would have imagined that?" she said after her doubles success. "I never would. It's been a wonderful weekend."

Fernandez, who suffered a spinal injury as a young child after falling out of a chair, was watched by his brother Juan, a professional basketball player, on Court three.

"It's an absolute dream come true," said Fernandez. "It means everything. It was so hard to win, I never even dreamed it. For it to come real, it is overwhelming."
