Mug Shot Monday (continued)

A (now) former Olathe [Kansas] teacher, Shawnee City Council member and one-time aspiring model pleaded not on Dec. 7 on a charge of having a sexual encounter with a student and is headed for trial. Justin Adrian, 33, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Johnson County District Court.

The alleged sexual encounter occurred in an empty classroom at Olathe East High School, where Adrian was a history teacher. The student was 18, but in Kansas it is illegal for a teacher to have sexual contact with a student at the same school.

The pair met the day before the encounter on Grindr and exchanged messages that were “sexual in nature.” Adrian told the student he could lose his job if people knew they were talking, an arrest affidavit alleges. Adrian asked if they could meet that day, but the student said he couldn’t. (Chores to do?)

The next day, the student said, he went to Adrian’s classroom during the school day. Adrian locked the door and they allegedly engaged in a sexual act. Adrian gave the student a pass so he would not be marked late to his next class, and the student left the room through a back door(!), he told police.

Adrian was also a member of the Shawnee City Council but resigned when the allegations surfaced. He is free on bond while the case is pending. He will be back in court Jan. 23, when a trial date could be set. (Via the Kansas City Star)

UPDATE:

He's apparently married, too.

His hubby is a real-estate agent.

This would have never happened if they had cats!

Needless to say, people have a lot of OPINIONS about the case.
