Ex-Wife of Former NBA Star Brent Barry Found Dead at 54

Erin Marie Benavides, the former wife of NBA star Brent Barry, has died by suicide at age 54.
Benavides, formerly known as Erin Barry, was found dead at her home in Port Aransas, Texas, on October 14, according to the New York Post.
Her name might ring a bell from 2010, when she and her then-husband, the handsome former San Antonio Spurs guard Brent Barry, made headlines amid allegations that she had an "emotional affair" with his former teammate Tony Parker, who was married to Eva Longoria at the time.
Benavides denied having an affair, but both marriages ended in divorce.
Barry, the 6-foot-7 son of NBA legend Rick Barry, played 14 seasons in the league, winning two championships with the Spurs.
Benavides went on to become an attorney and child-welfare advocate, working with victims of sex trafficking and serving as a prosecutor in Texas.
She leaves behind two sons from her marriage to Barry
Benavides had married fellow attorney Pablo "Paul" Benavides in 2022, but was reportedly living alone and looking for work at the time of her death. She had left her position as an assistant district attorney in August, just two months earlier
