Naked Christian College Swimmer Accused of Murder

A 20-year-old former college swimmer has pleaded not guilty to murdering a security guard while completely naked at a Maui condominium complex. 

Legend Storer is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree burglary and indecent exposure in the death of 63-year-old Michael Dyer and is being held without bail.

According to court records and Hawaii News Now, surveillance video allegedly shows Storer entering the security office at the Sands of Kahana around 1:45 a.m. and attacking Dyer, who was working the overnight shift. 

Investigators believe a five-gallon water bottle may have been used in the attack. 

Police found Storer about two hours later wandering naked in a nearby neighborhood with numerous abrasions and later connected him to Dyer's death through surveillance footage.

Before transferring to the University of Hawaii, Storer swam for Concordia University Irvine during the 2024-25 season -- a school that proudly bills itself as "Orange County's premier Christian university." The private Lutheran institution says its education is "grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ" and devoted to developing "wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens."
