The AIDS Memorial Remembers Kenneth Seymour (1963 - 2002)

Kenneth Seymour (1963 - 2002) was an actor known to gay film audiences as Mike Henson, died at age 38.
Born in Salinas, California, Ken settled in Los Angeles after completing a tour of duty in the US Army. Casting about for a means of employment, he caught the eye of David Forest, known as “the gay Heidi Fleiss,” who employed him in his escort service.
Ken’s popularity as an escort was such that it was parlayed into work in the gay film industry, and hence, Mike Henson was born after making his film debut in 1984.
Drector Jerry Douglas interviewed for Manshots magazine in 1991, spoke about his relationship with Ken and said, “He lived with me for a year, and I really liked that boy. He is one very sweet boy. Doesn't have enough ambition for his own good. And is really so devoted to his mother than he can't leave where he lives. And he left me because he couldn't stay away from Mother. But of all the people I have ever worked with, I'm probably in love with him the most.”
In 1991, Ken tested positive for HIV and stepped away from the film industry. He decided to pursue a degree in computer science, eventually enrolling in and graduating from the UCLA School of Computer Sciences. In 1994, he went to work, handling computer operations for his former boss, David Forest. However, this arrangement didn't last long. By 1996, David Forest was in prison after being sentenced for pandering and his escort service was shutdown permanently.
After a failed film comeback in 1998, Ken relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with his longtime lover/boyfriend, Dennis, a former Army buddy.
Sadly Ken’s beloved mother passed away on August 7, 2002, almost one month to the day before Ken would be found dead at home from an overdose.
📍The AIDS Memorial would love to hear from anyone who knew or remembers Ken.
